Check in time for cabins and sites is after 2:00pm and before 6:00pm; check out time is 10:00am. Check out time for cabins are particularly important so the cabins can be prepared for the next guests.
All guests staying in a cabin will be asked for a credit card number for security or a $200 cash bond on arrival. The full amount will only be refunded after an inspection has taken place and everything to be found satisfactory. Keep in mind our opening hours are from 8:30am, so leaving a cash bond may hold up your departure. Refusal will result in cancellation of your booking and forfeit of your deposit.
We do not allow any group bookings in our peak times and will only allow groups by discretion in our off peak times. For all groups, there is a strict noise cut off time of 10:00pm. Group organisers should also realise they will be held liable for their entire group and the conduct of their group. Immediate cancellation of the booking will apply and you will be asked to leave the park if you fail to abide by park rules. We do not offer a refund to any guest/group removed from the park.
Sorry, we are unable to provide accommodation to minors (people under the age of 18). We welcome kids as long as they are under the care of a responsible adult.
Our ‘kids are free’ policy is directly related to individual site bookings. If the kids are not part of the one family, then you will be classified as a group and pay the appropriate child rate.
Our office is open seven days all year round. During peak time, school holidays and long weekends we are open from 8:30am to 7:00pm seven days and from 8:30am to 6:00pm in our off peak times. We do not accept check ins after 10:00pm.
No, because of the fire risks associated with areas of the Park, open fires are not permitted. This includes rotisseries and heat bead items.
No, there are a number of car washes close by. As we are not on town water and rely on the purchase of water in via the truck load, anyone caught washing their caravan/boat/car will be asked to leave the park.
Yes, Gum Tree Caravan Park has a very strict one car per site policy, so extra vehicles will need to be parked outside of the park. One of the reasons is to maintain the safety of all guests and to allow for emergency service vehicles should the need arise. Visitor parking is adjacent to the Caravan Park Office.
No, the Caravan Park has a maximum stay limit of 45 days per any visit.
No, unfortunately we are not equipped for disabled people.
Yes. Our dump point is available for in-house guests only.
There is an area outside the park designated for smokers. Smoking is not permitted within 5 metres of cabins, amenities blocks or the camp kitchen. Smoking inside cabins will incur a $200 cleaning fee, which is stated inside all cabins.
No, generators are not permitted within the park.
Absolutely! We love people bringing their own bikes to ride around the park. Please make sure you bring your helmets with you. While we don’t offer bikes for hire, the Port Fairy Visitor Information Centre now hires out bikes for use.
No.
No. We do not make temporary bookings for people without a deposit. If you would like to stay with us, you will be required to leave a deposit at the time of booking. If you choose to enquire about accommodation and then phone back at a later date to make a booking, the accommodation you have enquired about would have not been placed on hold and may already be booked.
Gum Tree Caravan Park provides self-contained accommodation, not serviced apartments. However, we do provide a mid-week service for 7+ night stays.
No. The number of guests cannot exceed the number of beds provided. If the number of people exceeds the number of beds provided, you will have to pay for alternative accommodation for the extra guests if available. If accommodation is not available, you will have to find alternative accommodation for them. We reserve the right to cancel your booking (no refund) if we find you have more than the maximum number of guests and feel you will have them stay with you regardless of our policy.
Unfortunately, no. Our un-powered sites do not accommodate caravans/motorhomes due to their location. If you choose to book one anyway and we cannot re-allocate you to another site, you will not be refunded your payment. Please make sure you advise us what you are bringing at the time of booking. A camper trailer is not a Jayco Pop Top, and a pop top caravan is not a camper.
